What is SAINTS?

SAINTS is the Student Association of the International Theology Section. All international students in theology at our faculty are part of SAINTS.

Every faculty at our university has their own student association. Ours is called “Katechetika” for the Flemish students. SAINTS is the international part of Katechetika.
All students associations from the different faculties are represented in the umbrella organisation “LOKO”.

Our goal is to foster unity and fellowship among the international theology students in Leuven through celebrating and appreciating our cultural and religious diversity. We believe that by entering into contact, conversation and social activities with one another and with the larger community here in Leuven, we can add meaning, purpose and enrichment to our own lives and those of others.

Who is SAINTS?

SAINTS is YOU! Every student in the English language theology programme is part of SAINTS.
Every year, a core team varying from 3 to 5 people is elected, but we cannot do anything without you.

Events

The SAINTS organize weekly coffee and chai from 1 till 3 pm in the student lounge (located next to the stairs leading up to the library). Every year we also organize a talent show and the End of the Year Party. Examples of other events are movie nights, cultural evenings and MEET.

Student Representation

SAINTS is responsible for finding and guiding student representatives. More information you can find on the page about Education (student representation).

Canon Law Student Association: Canonica

The Canon Law faculty has its own student association called Canonica. We keep you informed about their activities. A lot of the canon lawyers don’t live in Leuven, but only come here for what they call the “intensive course weeks”, which are around 3 weeks in which entire courses are taught. It is in these weeks that their activities take place. Theologians are always welcome at Canonica’s activities and vice versa.

Spirituality

We cooperate with the Louvain Newman Society. They organize masses every Wednesday at the Pope’s College Chapel at 1.10 pm and also organize one or two lectures on a faith-related topic each semester. We also cooperate with Katechetika’s responsible for spirituality. Together we organize Masses and MEET. MEET is an event where theology, faith, prayer and everyday life come together, under the guidance of a guest speaker.
